Matthew P. Musgrove

Matthew P. Musgrove, an East Tennessee native, was born in Washington County and graduated valedictorian of his class from Chuckey-Doak High School in Afton, Tennessee. Upon completing high school, Matthew enrolled at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he graduated summa cum laude with a double major in Political Science and German. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree, he attended the University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville, where he earned his doctorate in jurisprudence.

While in law school, Matthew served the Knoxville area by representing survivors of domestic violence to obtain Orders of Protection, trained in Rule 31 Mediation, and mediated landlord-tenant disputes in Knox County General Sessions. During law school, Matthew spent his summers working locally in the East Tennessee region, including a judicial internship with the Honorable J. Ronnie Greer, a U.S. District Court Judge in Greeneville, Tennessee.


After law school, Matthew spent two years in service to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Knoxville and Catholic Charities of East Tennessee before joining the Law Offices of James R. Wheeler. Matthew and his wife, Dr. Miranda Chen Musgrove, are parishioners at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Johnson City, Tennessee. Matthew, Miranda, and their children live in Limestone.
